Damir Šoštarić

Damir Šoštarić, MEng, was born on 6th of March 1983. in Novo Mesto, Slovenia. Attended primary school in Požega. After primary school enrolled in secondary technical school in Požega, general direction of electronics, from which he graduated with a great success. Through high school he achieved a number of results in national competitions. In 4th class he won first place in a co-author electronics/engineering exhibition of graduation works in Pula 2001. with practical work at actual size: Solar Powered Car (Pulse – Width Modulation of DC Motor).
In 2001. he enrolled in Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Slavonski Brod, and in the same year, shifted to Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Osijek, direction Electronics and Automation. He served a civil service at the University of J.J. Strossmayer in Osijek, Institute of Power Electronics.
In 2007. he received the Rector's Award for practical work entitled Microcontroller Web Server. From 2008. he works at Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Osijek, Department of Communications. Area of scientific research (PHD) are Wireless Sensor Networks. He publishes papers in the area of Multimedia Systems, Mechanical Engineering (different type of welding – monitoring with WSN) and Wireless Sensor Networks. Participates in projects: “European Sensor Network Architecture” leakage detection of SF6 gas in circuit breakers, project of Ministry of Science, Education and Sports nr.: 165-0362027-1479.
Also, he participates in the system for measuring blood flow at the Medical Faculty and currently he is implementing a patent on the same device.
