I am 72 years old and design unique devices. I am employed by Stanley Security Solutions in Cleveland, Ohio. I service security systems. Previously I had my own Alarm Company for 33 years and built unique devices for a few of my customers. One such project was a system that tells motorists when a train was coming so they could avoid going down a certain street. It was done in 2001 and is still working great to this day. That was made with a Basic Stamp 2. I also made 2 - 160 zone annunciator panels with a check-in switch installed in each apartment. That system has 20 plugin cards with 8 BiLeds on each card representing each apartment. That was made with 16F74 micros and a 18F425 on the master display board. I did 75 unassisted living homes on the campus with the same kind of switches. We found 4 people expired during the first year. We later added a small clock device that monitored the operation of the switch so that if the user did not operate the switch on time then the switch would cause the alarm panel to report the failure to the security personnel. That project was based on a 16F87 and a DS 1337. Nice project! |
