This is a demo of dual quad seven segment + LED + keypad module. The module has a 74LS145 and a 74LS164. Both of these digital logic ICs are used to decode keypad inputs and multiplex seven segment and LED states in a very simple fashion. The module is pretty small and cheap, and is a suitable replacement of MAX72xx, TM1640, etc.

Driving Flexible Neopixel (WS2811) Strip with PICAXE08M2+ (PIC12F1840)

PICAXE is basically PIC micro with different branding. Here I used a PICAXE micro to drive a flexible Neopixel strip using hardware SPI. SPI is used along with the PIC's 32MHz internal oscillator as Neoppixels employ time-slotting trick to transfer data at a very fast rate with small timings. The code is written with CCS PIC C compiler.
