Library Description

The library covers all the necessary functions to control BUZZ 2 Click board.
Library performs the communication with the device via PWM module and using Sound library.

Key functions:

  • buzz2_gpioDriverInit( (T_BUZZ_P)&_MIKROBUS1_GPIO ) - Function initializes GPIO driver for the desired MIKROBUS1.

Examples description

The application is composed of three sections:

  • System Initialization - Initializes GPIO and LOG structures, set PWM pin as output and start to write log.
  • Application Initialization -  Initialization driver enable's - GPIO and configures the appropriate MCU pin for sound generation.
  • Application Task - (code snippet) This is an example which demonstrates the use of BUZZ 2 Click board, which plays Imperial March using Sound library.
void applicationTask()
{
    mikrobus_logWrite( " Play the music ", _LOG_LINE );
    buzz2_melody();
    Delay_ms( 1000 );
    mikrobus_logWrite( "----------------", _LOG_LINE );
}

Additional Functions :

  • void buzz2_soundInit() - Configures the appropriate MCU pin for sound generation.
  • void buzz2_melody() - Demo melody - plays Imperial March using Sound library.

Other mikroE Libraries used in the example:

  • Sound
  • UART

Additional notes and informations

Depending on the development board you are using, you may need USB UART clickUSB UART 2 click or RS232 click to connect to your PC, for development systems with no UART to USB interface available on the board. The terminal available in all MikroElektronika compilers, or any other terminal application of your choice, can be used to read the message

Expand 17 Click is a compact add-on board designed to expand the number of input/output pins in your system. This board features the TCAL6408, an 8-bit I/O expander from Texas Instruments, which communicates via the I2C protocol. The TCAL6408 features programmable output drive strength, latchable inputs, pull-up/pull-down resistors, and configurable open-drain or push-pull outputs, offering flexible and enhanced I/O performance with minimal power consumption and reduced EMI.

Rotary R click

5

Rotary R click carries a 15-pulse incremental rotary encoder with detents, surrounded by a ring of 16 LEDs. It’s a perfect solution for adding a precision input knob to your design. The encoder outputs A and B signals (out of phase to each other); the knob also acts as a push-button which sends an interrupt to the target board MCU.
