This project is based on the PCF8574 i2c based port expander which is used for Serial character LCDs which are themselves based on the popular Hitachi 44780 lcd driver.
The PIC16F887A is used as the Micro-controller (Master device). There's also a Proteus simulation file as well as a schematic diagram accompanying the project.
