Pollution click has high sensitivity to organic gases such as methanal, benzene, alcohol, toluene, etc. The click carries the WSP2110 VOC gas sensor with the detection range of 1~50ppm. Pollution click is designed to run on 5V power supply. It communicates with the target MCU over AN and RST pin on the mikroBUS line.

Library Description

The library covers all the necessary functions to control Pollution click board. Pollution click communicates with the target board via analog ( AN ) pin. This library contains drivers for reading the ADC value of WSP2110 sensor.

Key functions:

  • void pollution_enable() - Enable sensor function.
  • float pollution_measureLoadVoltage( uint16_t adcValue ) - Measure load voltage form ADC function.
  • float pollution_getResistance( uint16_t adcValue ) - Calculate the resistance of the sensor function.

Examples description

The application is composed of three sections:

  • System Initialization - Initializes GPIO and LOG structures, sets AN pin as input and RST pin as output.
  • Application Initialization -  Initialization driver enables GPIO, enable sensor and initialization ADC, also starts to write log.
  • Application Task - (code snippet) This is an example which demonstrates the use of Pollution Click board. Pollution Click reads ADC value. Results are being sent to the Usart Terminal where you can track their changes. All data logs on usb uart change for every 1 sec.
void applicationTask()
{
    valueADC = pollution_readADC();
    Delay_100ms();

    IntToStr( valueADC, logText );
    mikrobus_logWrite( " ADC value: ", _LOG_TEXT );
    mikrobus_logWrite( logText, _LOG_LINE );
    mikrobus_logWrite( "-------------------", _LOG_LINE );
    Delay_1sec();
}

Additional Functions :

  • void pollution_adcInit() - Function ADC initialization.
  • uint32_t pollution_readADC() - Function read ADC value.

Other mikroE Libraries used in the example:

  • ADC
  • UART
  • Conversion

Additional notes and informations

Depending on the development board you are using, you may need USB UART clickUSB UART 2 click or RS232 click to connect to your PC, for development systems with no UART to USB interface available on the board. The terminal available in all MikroElektronika compilers, or any other terminal application of your choice, can be used to read the message

BATT-MON 2 Click is a compact add-on board representing a battery monitoring solution. This board features the MAX17262, an ultra-low power I2C-configurable fuel-gauge IC which implements the ModelGauge™ m5 algorithm from Analog Devices. The MAX17262 monitors a single-cell battery pack (best performance for batteries with 100mAhr to 6Ahr capacity), providing precision measurements of current, voltage, and temperature, and supporting internal current sensing for up to 3.1A pulse current. The battery pack's temperature is measured using an internal temperature sensor or external thermistor.

UART MUX 2 Click is a compact add-on board that enables pseudo-multidrop RS232 transmission. This board features the MAX399, a precise CMOS analog multiplexer that allows four remote RS-232 transceivers to share a single UART from Maxim Integrated. It offers fast switching speeds with a transition time of less than 250ns and low on-resistance less than 100Ω while retains CMOS-logic input compatibility and fast switching. Channel selection is performed through a set of specific GPIO pins and possesses additional functionality such as the manual ON/OFF feature. This Click board™ is suitable for a wide range of applications, from industrial and instrumentation to a consumer, communications, data-acquisition systems, and many more.
