Library Description

The library initializes and defines the I2C bus driver and drivers that offer a choice for writing data in register and read data form register. The library includes function for read Temperature and Relative Huminidy data and function for read device ID and Manifactures ID. The user also has the function for configuration chip for measurement and read Interrupt (INT pin) state.

Key functions:

  • float temphum12_getTemperature(uint8_t tempIn) - Temperature data
  • float temphum12_getHumidity() - Relative Huminidy data

Examples description

The application is composed of the three sections :

  • System Initialization - Initialization I2C module and sets INT pin as INPUT.
  • Application Initialization - Initializes driver init, test comunication and configuration device for measurement.
  • Application Task - Reads Temperature and Humidity data and this data logs to the USBUART every 1 sec.
void applicationTask()
{
    float Temperature;
    float Humidity;
    char demoText[ 50 ] = {0};

   Temperature = temphum12_getTemperature(_TEMPHUM12_TEMP_IN_CELSIUS);

    FloatToStr(Temperature, demoText);
    mikrobus_logWrite(" Temperature : ", _LOG_TEXT);
    mikrobus_logWrite(demoText, _LOG_LINE);
    Delay_1sec();

    Humidity = temphum12_getHumidity();

    FloatToStr(Humidity, demoText);
    mikrobus_logWrite(" Humidity : ", _LOG_TEXT);
    mikrobus_logWrite(demoText, _LOG_LINE);

    mikrobus_logWrite("-------------------------", _LOG_LINE);
    Delay_1sec();
}

Other mikroE Libraries used in the example:

  • I2C
  • UART
  • Conversions

Additional notes and informations

Depending on the development board you are using, you may need USB UART clickUSB UART 2 click or RS232 click to connect to your PC, for development systems with no UART to USB interface available on the board. The terminal available in all MikroElektronika compilers, or any other terminal application of your choice, can be used to read the message.

Example for RTC2 click board in mikroBUS form factor. It is a simple demonstration how to read/write date and time from DS1307 RTC (real-time clock). Date and time are read from the RTC every 10 milliseconds and printed on LCD. Communication with the board is done via I2C interface.

TDC Click

0

TDC Click is a compact add-on board that recognizes events and provides a digital representation of the time they occurred. This board features the TDC7200, a time-to-digital converter from Texas Instruments. The Time to Digital Converter (TDC) performs the function of a stopwatch and measures the elapsed time (time-of-flight or TOF) between a START pulse and up to five STOP pulses. The ability to measure from START to multiple STOPs gives users the flexibility to select which STOP pulse yields the best echo performance.
