The most popular topic with which we all start the day is the weather.
This information has effect on our mood, the clothes we will be wearing and the plans we will making during the day.
Measure temperature, humidity, ambient lighting and UV and IR indexes in real time, with ease, by using our Weather Station Kit.

Project Description

With this project you can create your very own personalized weather station that can be implemented in your home, a greenhouse or in any other industrial control unit which depends on weather conditions.

This showcase was developed using several Mikroe Click boards: the Temp-Hum 8 click, the Ambient 6 click, the UV 4 click and the RTC 7 click. Everything is displayed on our TFT 5" board and the whole project is hosted on our state-of-the-art Fusion for ARM v8 development board.

The temperature is measured with our Temp-Hum 8 click, which can also be used for other weather related applications such as thermostats and microenvironment centers, while the ambient illumination data is gathered with our Ambient 6 click, which is ideal for various applications that rely on light intensity sensing.

The UV 4 click measures data regarding the UV and IR indexes which is proving to be extremely important these days. The UV Index is standardized by the World Health Organization and it represents the strength of sunburn-producing (UV) radiation, so it is very important to keep the information updated.

The RTC 7 click measures the exact real time in which a weather change has occured. This is very important because you can actually know what causes changes and exactly when they happen in order to receive even more information regarding the project. Because of the RTC 7 click, the data will be checked every second and the results will be updated on every weather change.

Timer click

1

Timer click is a mikroBUS add-on board with Maxim’s DS1682 total elapsed time recorder. It holds an elapsed time counter (ETC) in conjunction with the ALARM pin. The alarm flag is one time programmable. The board communicates through I2C interface, with two additional pins: ALARM and EVENT. It uses either a 3.3V or a 5V power supply only.

GainAMP 3 Click is a compact add-on board that contains a 4-channel programmable gain amplifier. This board features the ADA4254, a zero drift, high voltage, programmable gain instrumentation amplifier from Analog Devices. It features 12 binary weighted gains and three scaling gain options resulting in 36 possible gain settings. It comes with an input multiplexer providing ±60V protection to the high impedance inputs of the amplifier and an excitation current source output available to bias sensors such as resistance temperature detectors (RTDs).
