Library Description
The library covers all the necessary functions to control Thumbwheel Click board. Library performs the communication with the device via 1-Wire protocol by writting to registers and by reading from registers. Library have set configuration function, software reset function and function for getting the position of the thumb wheel.
Key functions:
thumbwheel_gpioDriverInit( (T_THUMBWHEEL_P)&_MIKROBUS1_GPIO )
Examples description
The application is composed of the three sections :
void applicationTask() { position = thumbwheel_getPosition(); if ( positionOld != position ) { IntToStr( position, logText ); mikrobus_logWrite( " Position : ", _LOG_TEXT ); mikrobus_logWrite( logText, _LOG_LINE ); mikrobus_logWrite( "- - - - - - - - - -", _LOG_LINE ); positionOld = position; } Delay_1sec(); }
Additional Functions :
void thumbwheel_setConfiguration( uint8_t config )
- Set configuration registers of DS2408 chip function.void thumbwheel_softReset()
- Software reset DS2408 chip function.uint8_t thumbwheel_getPosition()
- Get the position of the thumb wheel function.Other mikroE Libraries used in the example:
Additional notes and information
Depending on the development board you are using, you may need USB UART click, USB UART 2 click or RS232 click to connect to your PC, for development systems with no UART to USB interface available on the board. The terminal available in all MikroElektronika compilers, or any other terminal application of your choice, can be used to read the message.
