Library Description

The library covers all the necessary functions to control the Thermo K Click board.
Library performs the communication with the device via I2C driver by writing to registers and by reading from registers. Library set/get configuration, for set/get status, for set/get alert ( 1, 2, 3 or 4 ) status, enable/disable alerts, for measuring temperature and convert the data ( Celsius or Fahrenheit ), etc.

Key functions:

  • float thermok_getTemperature() - Get temperature ( Celsius )  function.
  • float thermok_getTemperatureFahrenheit()- Get temperature ( Fahrenheit ) function.
  • void thermok_setConfig( uint8_t configVal ) - Set configuration function.

Examples description

The application is composed of three sections:

  • System Initialization - Initializes GPIO, I2C, and LOG structures, sets AN, RST, PWM and INT pins as input.
  • Application Initialization -  Initialization driver enables - I2C start write log.
  • Application Task - (code snippet) This is an example which demonstrates the use of Thermo K Click board. Measured temperature data from the MCP9600 sensor on Thermo K click board. Results are being sent to the Usart Terminal where you can track their changes. All data logs write on usb uart changes for every 3 sec.
void applicationTask()
{
    temperature = thermok_getTemperature();
    Delay_ms( 100 );

    FloatToStr( temperature, logText );
    mikrobus_logWrite( " Temperature : ", _LOG_TEXT );
    mikrobus_logWrite( logText, _LOG_TEXT );
    mikrobus_logWrite( degCel, _LOG_LINE );
    mikrobus_logWrite( "---------------------------", _LOG_LINE );

    Delay_ms( 3000 );
}

Other mikroE Libraries used in the example:

  • I2C
  • UART
  • Conversion

Additional notes and informations

Depending on the development board you are using, you may need USB UART clickUSB UART 2 click or RS232 click to connect to your PC, for development systems with no UART to USB interface available on the board. The terminal available in all MikroElektronika compilers, or any other terminal application of your choice, can be used to read the message

Button G click is the simplest solution for adding a single pushbutton to your design. The button itself is transparent, 6.8mm in diameter and has a green LED backlight. When pressed, it sends an interrupt signal to the target board microcontroller. The backlight LED is controlled separately through the mikroBUSâ„¢ PWM pin.
