Library Description

The library covers all the necessary functions to control Microwave click board. Microwave click communicates with the target board via analog ( AN ) pin. This library contains drivers to reading ADC value of PD-V11 a 24GHz microwave motion sensor on Microwave click board.

Key functions:

  • void  microwave_gpioDriverInit (T_MICROWAVE_P gpioObj) - Function initializes GPIO driver for the desired MIKROBUS1.

Examples description

The application is composed of three sections:

  • System Initialization - Initializes GPIO and LOG structures, sets AN pin as input and starts write log.
  • Application Initialization -  Initialization driver enables GPIO, initialization ADC, gets initial value and also write log.
  • Application Task - (code snippet) This is an example which demonstrates the use of Microwave click board. Microwave click reads ADC value, take the exact amount of samples, calculation of the difference between taken samples and reference ADC value reports movement if the difference is greater than the threshold value. Results are being sent to the Usart Terminal where you can track their changes. All data logs on USB uart change for every 1 sec.
void applicationTask()
{
    cnt  = 0;
    single   = 0;
    sampler  = 0;
    sum      = 0;
    detector = 0;

    for (  sampler = 0; sampler < _MICROWAVE_SAMPLES_COUNT_100; sampler++ )
    {
        single = microwave_readADC();

        if ( single < reference )
        {
            sum += single;
            cnt++;
        }
    }

    if ( cnt )
    {
        detector = sum / cnt;

        if ( ( detector + _MICROWAVE_THRESHOLD_50 ) < reference )
        {
            WordToStr( detector, logText );
            mikrobus_logWrite( " Detected Move : ", _LOG_TEXT );
            mikrobus_logWrite( logText, _LOG_LINE );
            Delay_10ms();
        }
    }
}

Additional Functions :

  • void microwave_adcInit() - Function ADC initialization.
  • uint32_t microwave_readADC() - Function read ADC value.

Other mikroE Libraries used in the example:

  • ADC
  • UART
  • Conversion

Additional notes and informations

Depending on the development board you are using, you may need USB UART clickUSB UART 2 click or RS232 click to connect to your PC, for development systems with no UART to USB interface available on the board. The terminal available in all MikroElektronika compilers, or any other terminal application of your choice, can be used to read the message
