I have the PICPLC16v6 and would like to display the time from the RTC on the board to its LEDs, thus,want the LEDs to display the time at least, not LCD. Can some one help? would I need additional components? pease advise.

Why you don`t wanna show it on UART? I have 2 programs example on libstock how you can do it..
